I am aware of an animal abuse, neglect, abandonment, or starvation situation inside
McCurtain County. What steps do I need to take? The first step is to contact the proper law enforcement
department. If the animal is located inside city limits, contact the appropriate Police Department and if it is outside of
city limits, contact the McCurtain County Sheriff's Department. Next, we ask that you contact ARK immediately with all pertinent
information. We need the animal's location (driving directions if rural or the street address off of a mailbox or house),
details of the problem, whether or not the animals are in a life threatening situation, length of time they have been in this
condition, number of animals affected and descriptions of them, pictures if you can get some (highly recommended), whether
or not the owner lives on site, owner's name if you know it, and whether you need to remain anonymous to outside sources or
not. ARK can work with law enforcement without ever referring to you. Your phone number is very helpful in case we need
more information from you.
