                                                                     FROM    the   HEART

I KNOW we are making a difference in our county. However, all too often the volunteers manning the phone must offer euthanasia as the only solution to unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. We are reaching out to small communities in the county and to homebound senior citizens in an effort to further reduce the numbers that must be euthanized.

On a happier note, I was privileged last week to transport an adoptee to her new home in Austin, Texas. Buffy is a sweet little girl who had a rough beginning in life. The only safety and security she had ever known were these last few months in her foster home. Her new home came with a very big sister who loves to play tug-of-war. Buffy does not win the tug-of-war but waits until her sister turns her head and steals the toy. She has no idea that she is 50# smaller than her sister. Her new mama calls her Angel and is grateful to whatever is responsible for "bringing such a loving, resilient, and forgiving little soul" into her life.

Rember to not litter. Spay and Neuter instead.
